Getting Started with Scuba

PADI Discover Scuba

Want to try scuba diving but not sure if you’re ready for the full PADI Open Water course. You will need to fill out and return some paperwork prior to attending your session and then on the pool night you will just need to bring your usual swimming gear, T-shirt and towel. During your PADI Discover Scuba Diving session one of our highly experienced instructors will spend around 20-30 minutes to show you the SCUBA equipment that you will use and what each part does and how it's used. Then over to the fun part, it's time to put on the equipment and take your first breath underwater. Under the supervision of the instructor you will slowly be taken underwater to try out the equipment and a few fun practice skills. At the end of the session your instructor will run through the steps to continue onto the next course. Includes e-Learning and equipment. Cost £50

Learn to Dive

PADI Open Water

Ready to start your diving adventure.... The PADI Open Water course is the world’s most popular diving course and your first step on the ladder into the world of recreational diving. It will allow you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum of 18 metres. During the PADI Open Water course, you will engage in three main components: knowledge development, confined water dives (pool sessions), and open water dives. Knowledge development is completed via PADI E-learning and covers the principles and concepts of scuba diving. The confined water dives provide a safe, controlled environment, typically a swimming pool, where you will practice and master essential scuba skills. Finally, you will apply these skills during four open water dives which allows you to experience diving in a natural environment under the direct supervision of your PADI Instructor. PADI Open Water Referral

PADI Open Water Referral is the same certification as the PADI Open Water. This course enables you to complete your online e-Learning and confined pool training with us. You can then choose to do your four open water dives anywhere in the world with a PADI Dive Centre. This course is ideally suited to those who want to enjoy their holiday time diving rather than studying. Includes e-Learning and equipment. Cost £340

PADI Junior Open Water

Ready to start your junior diving adventure.... The PADI Junior Open Water course is one of the world’ s most popular diving courses for children and your first step on the ladder into the world of recreational diving. Divers aged 10-11 years will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres with a qualified guardian or professional and 12-16 years a maximum depth of 18 metres with a qualified guardian or professional. During the course you will complete your swimming pool sessions, you will also need to complete all sections of the PADI E-learning, and four open water dives. ​ Throughout the time you spend with our instructors you will have fun and you will learn the skills required to become a competent safe junior diver. Includes e-Learning and equipment. Cost £470

PADI ReActivate

The PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher Program is designed to refresh a certified diver's knowledge and skills after a period of inactivity. Enrollment typically involves an initial knowledge review, often conducted online through PADI's eLearning platform, where divers revisit essential safety procedures, dive planning, and problem management concepts. This is followed by a practical in-water session with a PADI Professional. During the in-water component, the diver practices fundamental scuba skills, such as mask clearing, buoyancy control, and emergency ascent procedures, ensuring they can perform these skills proficiently and safely before getting back to diving regularly. Upon successful completion of both the knowledge and skill components, the diver receives a new certification card showing a 'ReActivated' date. Includes e-Learning and equipment. Cost £90

PADI Advanced Open Water

The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to expand upon the foundational skills learned during the Open Water certification, providing practical experience and confidence in diverse diving situations. The course structure involves completing five Adventure Dives, which typically include the mandatory Deep Dive (extending depth limits to 30 metres/100 feet) and Underwater Navigation, plus three other specialty dives. This hands-on approach builds comfort and capability, allowing divers to explore new aspects of the underwater world under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor. Includes e-Learning. For students who have completed the Open Water course with Aqua Scuba School Liverpool, your equipment is included in the cost (excludes dry suit). Equipment is available to hire, please enquire. PADI Rescue Diver

Learn to assess and respond to situations before they arise and how to recognise and manage diver emergencies and take control in the event of a diver emergency while rescuing a responsive and unresponsive diver. Then learn how to provide vital first aid in and out of water. Gain lots of confidence and have serious fun along the way and discover why countless divers say that the Rescue Diver is their favourite scuba course. PADI Emergency First Response 

The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course is a comprehensive program focused on teaching lay rescuers how to provide immediate care that can save a life until professional medical services arrive. It is based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care and involves two primary segments: Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid). The Primary Care section focuses on life-threatening emergencies, including scene assessment, barrier use, checking for responsiveness, activating emergency medical services (EMS), and performing CPR and rescue breathing for adults, children, and infants. The Secondary Care portion addresses injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening, covering skills like injury assessment, illness assessment, bandaging, and splinting. The course emphasizes practical, hands-on training in a low-stress environment, making participants confident in their ability to respond effectively to common medical emergencies. Includes e-Learning Cost £120

PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course is designed to equip both divers and non-divers with the essential knowledge and skills to properly administer emergency oxygen. This specialised training focuses on recognising scuba diving injuries where oxygen administration is appropriate, safely assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment, and effectively delivering oxygen to both breathing and non-breathing patients using specialised devices like non-rebreather masks and demand inhalator valves. Successful completion prepares individuals to act as a crucial first responder in a diving emergency. Includes e-Learning Cost £150

PADI Dry Suit

The PADI Dry Suit Speciality course is designed to equip certified divers with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely and comfortably dive while wearing a dry suit. This training is essential for diving in cooler waters, allowing for extended and more comfortable bottom times. Throughout the course, participants will master crucial techniques such as managing dry suit buoyancy control, understanding the various types of dry suits and undergarments available, and performing essential maintenance and care procedures to keep their equipment in top condition. Includes e-Learning Cost £240 (combine with open water course £200)

PADI Deep Diver Speciality

The PADI Deep Dive speciality allows you to descend below thirty meters and to a maximum of 40 metres. Whether it’s to explore the deep wrecks or to discover the seascapes the course will teach you about the techniques and equipment you will use to dive safely to 40 metres. The PADI Deep Dive course allows you to dive to the maximum recreational limit allowed of 40 metres. The course takes place at Stoney Cove and you will complete 4 dives over 2 days. (​minimum age 15 years) Includes e-Learning Cost £350 (minimum of 2 divers)

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy

Learn how to determine the correct weight needed and avoid over weighting to improve your buoyancy skills. How to adjust equipment and body position to move efficiently in water. You will learn how to use the air in your lungs to ascend, descend or hover enabling you to observe aquatic life without disturbing the surroundings. Includes e-Learning Cost £180

PADI Search & Recovery

The PADI Search & Recovery Diver specialty course is designed to equip divers with the essential knowledge and techniques required to locate and safely retrieve lost items underwater. Throughout the program, participants master effective underwater search methodologies, including various pattern types, and gain proficiency in using specialised equipment like lift bags for the safe recovery of objects ranging from small, personal items to larger, more challenging finds. PADI Underwater Navigation

The PADI Underwater Navigation course typically involves two main components: a knowledge development session and three open water training dives. During the knowledge development phase, participants review safety procedures, planning methods, and the theory behind natural and compass navigation. The subsequent open water dives are practical application sessions where students practice using a compass for reciprocal bearings, learn to estimate distance underwater, perfect various underwater search patterns, and master natural navigation cues to find their way accurately back to a desired exit point. Includes e-Learning Cost £200 (minimum of 2 divers)

PADI Wreck Diver

The PADI Wreck Diver Speciality course is an introduction to wreck diving and to help develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe wreck diving. The course covers the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and hazards of wreck diving. Subjects covered include the preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels as well as diving techniques and emergency procedures. The course takes place at Stoney Cove over 2 days and consists of 4 dives. Includes e-Learning Cost £350 ( min 2 people)

PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx)

The PADI Enriched Air Speciality course is also known as Nitrox course. Diving with nitrox means you can enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals as nitrox contains less nitrogen. The course involves classroom-based theory sessions where you will learn the necessary knowledge to plan and carry out dives using enriched air up to 40% oxygen. You will study equipment considerations for diving with nitrox, managing oxygen exposure, analysing the gas mixture in your cylinder, and setting your dive computer for enriched air use. Upon successful completion, you will receive the PADI Enriched Air Diver certification, enabling you to take advantage of longer no-decompression limits on your dives. Go Professional

PADI Dive Master

The PADI Divemaster course is the first professional level certification. You will learn how to become effective leaders and role models in the diving community. This course will significantly expand your dive theory knowledge across physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, and the underwater environment, solidifying their understanding of diving principles. You will learn to organise and direct a variety of dive activities, refine problem-solving skills to manage dive scenarios, and perfect your personal diving techniques to demonstrate all skills to PADI standards. A major component of the course involves assisting PADI Instructors with student divers, mastering supervisory and logistical planning for both training and non-training dives, thereby preparing them to professionally guide certified divers and assist with dive instruction worldwide.
